Accuracy: Roundness 3 microns on live spindle grinding. Surface finish to 0.3 microns Ra. Parallelism to 0.002mm over 250mm length.
Workhead: The spindle is casehardened and runs on precision deep-groove ball bearings on the rear end and a long conical bronze bush at the front to enable precise adjustment. The spindle can be locked for centre to centre grinding and can also be converted into a live spindle for chuck or collet work.
Wheelhead: Wheelhead spindle and bearings are in the form of a replaceable cartridge unit. The design of the wheelhead provides for extreme sensitivity of adjustment and ensures a very high order of repeat accuracy.
The wheelhead slide has an unique hydro-mechanical feed system, which ensures that the wheelhead comes to the grinding position always against a dead-stop. This guarantees a very precise position control. The rapid advance and retraction are controlled by the hydraulics and positioning is by a precision screw. Tailstock: Movement of the hardened barrel which is shrouded and fitted with bellows for maximum protection, is through a lever. The operating mechanism is housed inside, protected from grit and coolant. Spring pressure on the barrel is adjusted by rotating a knurled sleeve. Models: Two models are available: Model 16-01 (Capacity between centres - 315mm) Model 16-02 (Capacity between centres - 630mm)
